Radiant Journey
City of Toronto - University Ave.

Client: Derek Nicholson
Architect: Barbora Vokac Taylor (BVT Architect)

This project was completed in collaboration with Barbora Vokac Architecture and Derek Nicholson — a refined and quietly striking private residence in Toronto’s Summerhill neighbourhood.

At the rear of the home, a custom Corten steel rain screen wraps three sides, featuring a delicate, abstracted leaf perforation pattern conceived by BVA. This thoughtful detail not only adds texture and depth but also creates a dynamic relationship between light, shadow, and material throughout the day.

At the front, an inset Corten steel vestibule defines the entryway complete with an integrated mailbox and crisp detailing that speaks to the craftsmanship and attention to detail we strive for in every project.

    • 3/16” Corten weathering steel

    • These panels were laser cut and welded together to create a perfect finish with no visible fasteners.

    • The hanging system is cleat based and allows the panels to be minutely adjusted to achieve perfect gaps between panels.
